    I use NetBeans. I like it, it's free, and it has some nice features.

    I ONLY use the github web editor. 1. I like editing it all by hand. 2. I'm almost always on iPad.

    I've used Geany, Atom, Github editor, C9, Sublime Text 2 & 3, WebStorm, PHPStorm but my favorite is Sublime Text editor with its simplicity and many things can be added by plugins.

    PHPStorm, it's by far the best IDE I've ever used. It's autocompletion and all round capability is unmatched (as far as I know).
