Help Please! Noob to hosting PE Server - world loads, but blocked

Hi Everyone,

I just finished loading my server, it runs, can i can connect within same LAN. The world loads, but as a player, the only thing i see is bricks... like i'm trapped in a box. I can swing and punch, it looks like it's breaking the bricks and behind the dibris, i can see the world... but if i stop swinging and punching, it goes back to me being locked in this box.

What am I missing? is it a glitch? or is there something else i need to load on the sever?

This should not happend (obviously lol). What version are you running and did you install any plugins?

 

Perhaps you have spawn protection enabled, and didn't make yourself operator?

I didn't do any of that, lol... i just created an XBOX live account, signed in with that account on son's tablet, found the IP of the server and loaded... in the server properties, spawn protection is set to 16... here is the server properties file:

Are you in survival or creative mode when this happens? If it were survival, wouldn't you also be taking damage? Try to op yourself in the console and either setting your gamemode to creative or teleport somewhere with a high y value.

In the same console where you started the server, run the command 'op {your username}'. Then, you should be able to bypass spawn protection, change gamemode with /gamemode, teleport with /teleport {x} {y} {z}, etc.

 

Thanks for the reply.. .that didn't seem to change anything... this is what it looks like when i connect to the server from a tablet:

Can't break out, nothing changes... can't move, etc.... thoughts?

 

What commands have you tried after being opped?

 

None... i don't really know how to ...do you think it's a spawn issue?

 

Keeps saying, " i don't have permission" to teleport after i've OP'd on the server...

 

Ok... figured out how to teleport... now, how do i know where to teleport to? i keep getting, "player fell out of world"

Just an update: i read somewhere that maybe something was jacked up with my world... so i renamed it to "old", it created a new one and i'm in and playing! Thanks for all the advice!
