is there a way to detect VPN? My ban plugin banned the cid name and ip but ip can be changed by vpn, name can switch in options and most of mcpe player can change her cid lol what can i do?
nothing just accept that you can never ban them, unless you want to switch to pay for entry, but if they dont mind sparring a few pennies there literature nothing you can do other then making a private invite only server where only your friends can get access TLDR: nothing, just god damm give up already
Bancid isn't sure you can bypass that in the config of mcpe is it so easy. Me I change my I'd mcpe all 3Hour ☺
Yeah, or you can modify the "lease time" on your router's page. Surprisingly, very few people have dynamic IP, I don't know for what reason the majority of the people I've come across use static IP.
Face the facts: Banning someone permanently is impossible. Best thing to do is just banning them over and over again. You can ban whatever you want, but they'll always be able to come back eventually.
I've had many reports of people on my server IP banned for more than 6 months. So that justifies it. :/
Because they don't switch off their router? I've never seen any reliable methods of banning other than pay2play bans, i.e. the Minecraft account bans in MCPC>
It doesn't just depend on rebooting your router. My router, for example, has an adjustable lease time option which is, by default set to 24h. So even if I don't switch off and on my router, the IP changes any way after every 24h.
The best system I've come up with so far is to use multiple ban methods and give false information as to which ban was used. Most people get bored fast if they have to change ip, cid, IGN (and even skin, see megaban on poggit) just to get on for a few seconds.
what if people just "crack" other people accounts to play for free or what if they dosent care about how much it cost just to mess with the admins for fun?
To stop people hacking staff accounts I use a PIN code for given ranks and it works great (shameless plugin plug: my version of SimpleAuth, again on Poggit). As for people who don't care how much it takes to annoy admins... they usually just want some kind of recognition or responsibility: there's nothing you can do except give them just enough (e.g a cool sounding rank like 'ProHacker', limited perms to set homes, use plots etc) for them to be afraid of losing what you've given them, and what they have built ;-) I had a big problem with some players once, spamming and hacking players... but they ended up running my most popular server for me. Social Engineering is the key!
