Hi, I've just set up a new server and everything works fine, i can join, blocks get saved and so on. But the world generation behaves extremely strange. It only creates Plains, Forests, Deserts, Oceans and Snowy areas. There are no other biomes and the landscape in general looks fairly lacking (See attached screenshots). Notice the weird patterns on the ground the hard biome transition and the general lack of detail such as grass and flowers. The entire thing feels like a very early Pocket Edition map, but I the server is running on v1.4.0. The server.properties file is untouched in this screenshot (type 'DEFAULT'). I was able to influence terrain generation a little bit by setting the type to 'CUSTOMIZED' and then using custom strings. But when i tried pasting in the string for default world generation from http://minecraft.tools/en/custom.php?preset=0) (Hoping that this would "force" the server to generate proper terrain) I was back to what I had before. I hope that someone can help me with this... EDIT: Further observations: There are no flowers. ever. There are no animals or monsters. (Which should be active on default settings, shouldn't they?)
Okay, so this is absolutely normal behavior? That's good, I didn't break anything Thank you for answering quickly! I guess I'll look into plugins like https://github.com/Ad5001/BetterGen . Although I can't really find the .phar file that the documentation asks for.....
Yep since PMMP is built up from ground without any mojang aids, we kinda have more pressing things to deal with so world generator often times get left behind in favor of actually supporting more critical also check release page, but that one seems to be more than outdated, you COULD try to phar it yourself, if you have any problems you could make a new thread for that!
