Hello All, I would like to create a Minecraft Server for some Scouts. However I'm struggling to decide what to host it on. I have hosted a server before but it was not on 24/7 and only had 5 players. I ideally need something online 24/7 and that can support around 15 people online at once with 10 Plugins 1. Intel® Compute Stick STK2m364CC Windows 10 CPU: Intel® Core™ m3-6Y30 Processor 2 Cores 4 Threads 2.20GHz Clock Speed (This is a 64 bit processor so no problems) RAM: 4GB Power(Under Load) 14.20 Watts2. My actually Server Running Free Nas but can create virtual Machines CPU: i5-2320 4 Cores 4 Threads 3.20GHz RAM: 6GB Power(Under Load) 300 - 450 Watts So Clearly Computer 2 would be more suited Higher Clock Speed and More Ram. However it uses a lot more power. So my questions is can I run a server for 15 people with Computer 1 or should I use 2 or Should I be using a cloud provider(My internet can take the traffic)? If so can you recommend some cheap hosting. And how finally how much ram should you actually allocate per player. I have seen lots of conflicting answers? Thanks for your Help
Short and simple. Don't expect a good server with free hosters. 1. I recommend RAMshard if you are a developer 2. I recommend WitherHost if you are not.
PocketMine is developed in PHP, which does not depend as much on RAM as it does on clock speed. 1-4 CPU cores with a higher per-core clock speed will make for a better server experience than allocating more RAM.
