Cant modify server.properties

Somehow i cant modify the server properties file. Every time i do so, it reverts back to default. I tried everything so far and nothing works. Any ideas what the cause of the problem is?

 

do you have write permissions?

How?

 

if you right click on the server.properties file and click properties and ensure that the read only box is clear

 

also as a side note make sure that your server is somewhere in C:\Users\username
if its not you may have permissions issues even if you are administrator
(this is all assuming you are on windows)

Do you mean `max-players`? If you show us the contents of server.properties as you'd like it to be, maybe someone could help.

 

well its fixed thanks i just resetted my pc

 

you just probably had some broken windows stuff then
(i just reset my laptop because nothing from the win store would work)

 

Are you using a webhost to host your server? If so, can you tell me?

 

No i run it on my pc.
