As if people who never managed to learn any programming languages would learn JSON so easily.
It is much more meaningful to make a proper mod API instead of wasting time parsing JSON and only allow changing constant values.

iirc maybe the above might probably be correct perhaps unless it's wrong afaik absolutely no warranties understand this message at your own risk

I'm quite sure whatever you can do with addons, you can do with plugins as well. Not entirely sure.
