Both win10 ed 1.0.4 and androd 1.0.4 give the error Unable to connect to world when attempting to join my locally hosted server. no logs are generated, the server doesn't even see the connection attempts.

is this a failure because of using an XBL account, or..., and how does this get fixed?
    --Update--
after logging out of XBL on android, the issue persists.

What OS are you hosting the server on? Are the devices you are using to connect on the same network as the device used to host?

" locally hosted server" as in yes, they are on the same network. server is on win 10, with bash on ubuntu on windows

also, for some reason nukkit works fine (at least connecting from android), but not pocketmine

Hmmm. Does the server appear locally on the devices you try to connect with, or are you adding it manually?

it does appear locally. the local game option and manually adding the server both give the same error of "unable to connect to world"

Getting no messages or errors on the log makes this a pretty difficult issue. The only thing I can think of is reinstalling PocketMine, checking to make sure all the dependencies are installed correctly, or, frankly, using Nukkit or another alternative that works for you.

I've already reinstalled pocketmine twice, and nukkit still dosn't work from the win10 version on the server pc.

I'm having the same problem running 1.0.4.11 on macOS Sierra. No output on the server console even with debug level set as high as it goes, and only "Unable to connect to World" on an iPad Tablet.

What port are you trying to host your server on?
