Is it possible to create a PocketMine Server for free? I need one because I want to test my plugins on an empty clean server. I tried this server maker program, but it isn't working.
@Edwardthedog2 That means it will also not work? Because it's crashing very often and the IP 0.0.0.0 won't work.
Use https://github.com/pmmp/PocketMine-MP for the latest version. Download the .phar here. Older versions wouldn't work because (assuming) you're using the latest api to make the plugins and you obviously can't connect to an older server with a newer client.
@Sandertv instant.pocketdock.io is closed, doesn't work anymore. I'm still wondering: “Test on a clean server without plugins” Where do the people test that? Does everyone buy a new server? Did they download a free VPS or server maker program? I don't know how to make one, and I'm interested how most people do it.
A server can be hosted locally too. PocketMine-MP is free and you can download it from GitHub or download one of the pre-compiled .phar files (from PMMP's github description). People purchase a new server/system host mostly for commercial uses. If you are making a server for commercial uses, you will want the server to be online approx. 24/7. For this you'll need to keep your PC turned on 24/7 which could melt parts of your motherboard (unless you have a water cooling system). To avoid all those one-time purchases, people prefer someone else host the server on their system and they pay the host. Again, you can host PMMP on your own system for free.
I searched in Google for “Host PocketMine server on PC” , I only found old tutorials from 2013-2015. Can anyone help for a newer tutorial for 2017, ALPHA7?
What OS to you use? If you use windows, you can use the installer from @TheDeibo. It's very easy to install that way.
I did everything, but I cannot join the server. It gave me my external IP, tried to join on my iPad, but I won't work.
Use your internal IP if you're joining from the same network. If you're joining from another network, than you'll have to port forward.
