Hi folks, hopefully you can assist. PROBLEM: I cannot get my apple devices to connect to my PMMP server on my home network SETUP: iPad 5 and iPhone 7 with latest iOS Minecraft PE version 1.6 PMMP v1.6 running successfully on both my MacOS and on a Windows 7 (when I say running successfully, I mean I am able to start the PMMP server, go through the install and see it run via the command line) Created XBox ID and can connect to servers on the internet Windows and MacOS Firewalls disabled to ensure that they were not interfering with connections DESCRIPTION: When I run Minecraft on my iPad/iPhone the local server is does not show up in "Friends" tab When I add the server to the server list, I get the "unable to connect to world" error message. I checked the server logs and it shows no evidence of anything attempting to connect to the server either the windows or mac PMMP servers. Any assistance or ideas that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Version on both my Mac and Windows boxes: [Server thread/INFO]: This server is running PocketMine-MP 3.2.1 for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition v1.6.0 (protocol version 282)
Thank you for your question. I was wondering if you can you please clarify... (1) which IP address (2) and, where specifically, I am supposed to "put it" FYI: Since the PMMP server is on the same network as the iPad, from what I read in the forums, the PMMP is supposed to automatically show up in the friends tab of the iPad's Minecraft PE. As an additional test, I created an xbox live account (necessary to connect to servers) AND added the PMMP server details (including IP address) to the server list on the iPad Minecraft PE. Then I try to connect to this server, I am receive the error message "unable to connect to world".
What have you used for 'server-ip' in server.properties (also displayed on server start)? If it isn't set to '0.0.0.0' (any IP address), try that instead.
The "server=ip" config did not exist but here is the console: $ ./start.sh [09:34:16] [Server thread/INFO]: Loading pocketmine.yml... That did not fix the issue. Then, I manually added the config "server-ip=0.0.0.0" in server.properties. Unfortunately, both the update and the config change did not fix the issue.
Try turning off the auto-updater in pocketmine.yml: Code: auto-updater: enabled: false If that still doesn't work, can you connect to the built-in server on one of the devices from the other device when both on your local network?
Changed auto-updater to false. Unfortunately, that did not fix the issue. Yes, using internal servers on any of my iPads, iPhones, etc allows me to create and join LAN/ "Friends" games. Thank you for everyone's help, input and questions!
If you have the same problem on both macOS and Windows then it seems likely it's a problem with your router, your WiFi network, or the devices trying to connect. Did you go through your router settings? Do you use a WiFi extender?
Thanks for the tip! I tested this setup in a number of different physical networks/ routers/ firewall. After reviewing and making no changes... what is really strange and I can't explain it but... The Windows server (albeit it is a couple of updates behind) NOW WORKS! This works with the default config (eg NO changes to the server-ip or updater changes noted in this thread) The MacOS server does NOT work for some reason. Either way, now that the server works I am all good. Thank you all for you help !! What a great community!!
